This is a list of companies and people we have used ourselves, or with other people, in the course of renovating, converting properties in France.
Travel Companies
We have used all these companies to travel to and from France. They all have on-line booking and reservation facilities.
Brittany Ferries. National carrier. Gives discount for people owning property in France via its property owners travel club. Also manages holiday home bookings through its holiday’s brochure. Property owners can ask to be included on this scheme.
P & O Ferries. Offers the one route to France with several crossings.
LD lines. Ferry company offering four routes for crossing the channel.
Norfolk line offering several crossings on one route to France; Dover-Dunkerque.
Seafrance. Ferry company offering frequent crossings on the Dover-Calais route to the continent.
Wegolo. (which is a brilliant name for) a company offering an on-line resource for researching and booking tickets for any of the budget air operators, including Ryanair, Easyjet, Bmi-Baby and Flybe and other “low-cost” airlines. The network of regional airports is growing all the time. The growth in the number of “weekenders” in France has grown as has the number of “commuters” to all parts, with nearly all of the country reachable in under 2 hours from regional UK airports.
Eurotunnel. Car carrying and commercial train service via Folkestone-Calais. Frequent and fast way to the other side of the Channel Links to and from the terminal either side via both country’s motorway networks,also available
Eurostar. Passenger train service with express links to mainline stations in both countries.
